Liffey Crane Hire Training Academy
To help you get the best from your specialised lifting equipment and in conjunction with Safety Month 2023, we launched the Liffey Crane Hire Training Academy’s online induction modules for specialised lifting equipment. This safety-focussed, innovative and CIRI CPD approved content has proved essential for operators who want to get the very best from their specialised lifting equipment.

Accredited Spider Crane Course
A new string to our bow that we can offer our customers in 2024 is the ability to run, in-house Instructor led, Lantra-accredited spider crane training. In October 2023 we supplied the course to 3 successful candidates for a valued customer.
This course offers comprehensive training for individuals and professionals interested in operating spider cranes safely and effectively. The course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate spider cranes in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Safety Month 2023
October was safety month and along with launching our “safety first” online induction modules for specialised lifting equipment, we were also asked to participate in presentations to many of our customers in relation to health and safety topics. One such event was in Grand Canal Harbour for a valued customer.
As a business we are constantly looking at health and safety in the workplace and beyond. We have adopted a health and safety culture across our business and are always looking to improve our robust policies and procedures. We welcome any opportunity to educate our customers in our safety first practices when it comes to our lifting equipment. Our adopted mantra of “everybody goes home safe” is at the heart of everything we do.
What we’ve done for you, our customers
Looking back over the year
We had some interesting work for our customers during 2023. One such job was utilising the ECO 295-3 spider crane to lift into place the head of “The Giant” at its current home in The Plaza on Dame Street Dublin 2. This project will soon be one of the world’s most ambitious cultural and commercial projects bringing art, amusement and wonder to cities across the globe.
From lifting boats to trees and restrictive spaces, we have truly gone where no other crane company has gone before in 2023 and we look forward to more of the same in 2024!
Skyscraper Glass
Throughout 2023, our sister company Liffey Glass Transporting was busy delivering glass to the four corners of Ireland on a daily basis, running up the kind of miles that Space X might see.
From road to sea, we helped our valued customer ship over 40 containers of high quality glass for skyscrapers across North America and Canada.
Other Industry
At our core we exist to serve the facade and construction industry, with that said we have managed to expand our services with our wide variety of floor cranes for sale & hire. These exceptionally easy to operate cranes make light work of arduous tasks and we are proud to say our Cranes grace the floors of big pharma, factory floors and industrial units across Dublin and beyond. Some of the new editions to add to the already popular Slewboy 500, Galizia G20 and others Include the Glassboy 850, GLM 800 and the MFC 750.
Delivery of Two Behemoths of the Spider Crane World
In November we were proud to take delivery of two of the incredible UNIC URW 1006 spider cranes. The mightiest of the world’s mini cranes, the UNIC URW-1006, boasts 10 tonnes of lifting power.
The UNIC URW-1006 offers a generous 30.7 metre lifting height and 24.3 metre working radius, yet at only 2 metres wide it still retains class-beating minimal dimensions for working in restricted spaces.
This versatile mini crane also has a unique pick and carry function which enables it to travel with loads up to 1.5 tonnes. Its configurable outriggers provide maximum stability when lifting on uneven surfaces thanks to their full safety interlocking system.
The UNIC URW-1006 is also fitted with a state-of-the-art safe load indicator with high resolution colour LCD display, as well as radio remote control which gives operator feedback for safer lifting.

Going Green
Last year we decided to go green, investing in ECO friendly equipment and introducing HVO diesel as a fuel source for our fleet of trucks, cranes and service vehicles.

25 years in business
This coming year is a special one for us as we celebrate 25 years in business.
It hasn’t been plain sailing, we have had our ups and downs (excuse the crane pun!) but we have stayed true to our values and have found it to be a rewarding experience, building relationships with our customers and building our business with a passion for doing everything to the best of our abilities.
