Over our many years in the glass and glazing industry, we have learned a few things! And in conjunction with many of our clients and their feedback, we’ve found that operator manuals are quite often used as the go-to resource when something goes wrong. We wanted to change that!
As technology improves, it’s no longer the case that someone versed in vacuum lifters can safely use all other variations safely and effectively. Quite simply put, not all vacuum lifters are created equal. And that’s the same for counterbalance beams, glazing robots and just about everything else you can think of.
Customer-Driven Content to Meet Real-Life Challenges
For these reasons, we wanted to create innovative online induction modules for the most versatile and specialised lifting equipment used in the construction sector and beyond, that mirrors our commitment to our safety-first ethos whilst utilising engaging content with online assessments.
To do this, the first thing we did was engage with our customers, finding out what is important to them and the issues they are challenged with on-site. We identified a need for operator manual-led, safety-orientated content through online induction modules which would minimise both downtime and the difficulties of on-site inductions. Armed with this information, we set about mapping out what an effective online induction module looks like.
Driven by this feedback from our customers and our own safety-first ethos, we have developed and created engaging, safety-focused online induction modules for our range of products. These include our Woods POWR-Grip range of vacuum lifters along with our Libro Counterbalance beams, OSCAR glazing robots and Galizia G20 pick & carry cranes.
Online Training Modules for Specialised Lifting Equipment
The initial launch of online induction modules in the Liffey Training Academy focuses on:
- Glass vacuum lifters
- Glazing robots
- Pick & carry cranes
- Counterbalance beams
More equipment categories will be added in the coming months.
Our online induction modules are multi-device compatible, so whether learners have a desktop, tablet, or smartphone, they can easily access our online inductions.
